Ferrero Hixon Associates was hired by the town of Simsbury to design a mixed recreation and entertainment master plan for approximately 120 acres of town-owned land adjacent to the downtown business district and along the Farmington River. The plan focused on ecological sensitivity, connecting downtown to the river and providing a host of active and passive recreational opportunities. The completed plan includes numerous athletic fields, a large Boundless™ Playgrounds, river trails, parking, sitting areas and a permanent band shell. Ferrero Hixon was subsequently retained to provide design and technical documentation for all phases of the construction completed to date.
